12 gauge, 30" Nitro proofed Damascus barrels, no S/N. Horn takedown lever, horn and steel trigger guard, nicely figured checkered walnut stock and forearm, checkered butt with checkered steel heel and toe plates, back action locks with dragon head hammers, beautifully relief engraved with floral and game scenes and gold inlaid accents.

Georg Ludwig Martin Rasch (1792-1867) founded "G.L. Rasch-Braunschweig" in the second quarter of the 19th century.  A well-respected craftsman, he served as head of the Brunswick gunmaker's guild from 1843-1845.  The quality and skill of his work caught the attention of the Ducal family and was later appointed royal gunmaker.  Rash made fine arms for several members of the Brunswick royal family.

While the firm manufactured most of its own pieces, later examples show markings of Liege, Suhl, and other popular areas of gun making.  This piece was likely made under the ownership of Georg's son, Friederich Martin Ferdinand.  Frederich's son Ferdinand was the head of the shop at this time, and as such was likely the maker or assembler of this piece.

**C&R or FFL required

Condition: This gun is a functional display of craftsmanship and art.  It is in excellent condition with excellent bores and retains most of the original finish. High quality, high condition, this gun has it all.
