.22RF caliber, 10" tapered round barrel, no S/N. Blued and color case hardened finish, smooth walnut grip and smooth Schnabel forend. Single-shot Remington rolling block action customized by one of the finest American gunsmiths of the 1920s and 1930s, John Oberlies of Dayton, OH. Although unmarked, Oberlies signature silver acorn inlay is present in the bottom of the forend, indicating that this is his work. The backstrap, gripstrap and rear face of the breech are stippled, as is the screw securing the forend. Pistol is equipped with adjustable target rear sight and a semi-Patridge front sight blade. The one-piece figured walnut grip is decorated with diamond shaped ivory colored inlays on both sides and silver shield escutcheons near the frame junction. Schnabel forend with sculptured molding at frame and acorn inlay underneath. An attractive and likely very accurate little pistol built on a Remington action by one of the foremost custom American gunmakers of the pre-WWII era.

Condition: Very fine. Retains most of the blue and case coloring applied by Oberlies. The barrel shows some thinning and fading, while the frame retains nearly all of the vibrant color. Even the screws retains most of their finish, although the forend screw shows some minor slot wear. Action is crisp and fully functional, bore is fine. Wood is fine with some minor light handling marks.
