Item Description: Translate description
.45 ACP caliber, 5" barrel, S/N 83813 (mfg. ca1914-15). Blued finish, double-diamond checkered wood grips. Right side of slide roll marked MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY. No American eagle is present. Left side of frame marked UNITED STATES PROPERTY. Left side of slide roll marked with three line patent information: "PATENTED APR 20, 1897 / SEPT. 9, 1902 . DEC. 19, 1905 . FEB. 14 /  COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO." followed by the two-line roll mark: "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY / U.S.A." A flaming ordnance bomb is stamped to the rear of the slide. Another flaming bomb inspection is present on the left side of the frame, behind the trigger and above the magazine release button. Blued barrel marked with an "S" and a "P" on the left side of the link lug. Flat mainspring housing, long trigger. Includes a single WWII period blued magazine marked S on the top edge of the floor plate. A decent entry level pre-WWI production Springfield 1911 that has seen some hard use.

Condition: Good as refinished. American Eagle mark removed from right side of slide and part of the word "MODEL" is obscured. Other markings remain clear and legible. Retains some of the applied blued with wear and some cold blue touch up on the slide. Metal with scattered surface oxidation as well as some scattered corrosion. Mechanically functional, good bore that needs to be cleaned. Wood grips well worn with soft checkering and rounded edges.
