A 9ct gold and enamel Football League 3rd Division Southern Section Challenge Cup winner's medal 1933-34 awarded to Jimmy Gray of Exeter City, the obverse with blue enamel and lettering THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE CHALLENGE CUP COMPETITION, hallmarked 9ct, in original Thomas Fattorini Ltd, Birmingham box, weight: 13 gms, diameter: 32 mm. James ''Jimmy'' Gray (1900-1978) Scottish footballer and fullback with Exeter City with over 200 league games, helping them to reach the quarter final of the FA Cup in 1931. A benefit game was staged for him by Exeter City against his former club Liverpool FC at St James' Park in May 1935 with Liverpool winning 3-1. He remained at the club until the end of the 1935-36 season. The Football League Third Division South Cup was a football knockout competition open to teams competing in the Football League Third Division South, the competition first held in 1933-34 and ran until 1938-39, the cup was revived for the 1945-46 season. Exeter City winning the 1933-34 season against Torquay United 1-0.

A trio of medals to the Arsenal FC footballer Alf Haynes, the first in 9ct gold and enamel awarded for the Sheriff of London Charity Shield, undated, hallmarked 375 and Birmingham 1932, in original leather case gilt tooling; the second in 15ct gold inscribed LONDON FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, undated, hallmarked 625 and Birmingham 1930, cased in original box with gilt tooling; the third in 15ct gold inscribed LONDON FOOTBALL COMBINATION, ARSENAL F.C., WINNERS, A.E.HAYNES, 1929-30, hallmarked 625 and Birmingham 1929, in original case with gilt tooling, weight: 15ct - 43 gms, 9ct - 14 gms Arsenal FC won the Sheriff of London Charity Shield in 1931 and 1932 beating Corinthians on both occasions. It is not certain for which of these matches the medal was awarded. The second medal in this lot was awarded when Arsenal FC won the London F.A. Challenge Cup in season 1930/31, beating rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The third medal is for the Football Combination competition for the reserve teams of the Football League, Arsenal dominated the competition particularly in the 1920/30's including five consecutive championships between 1926/27 and 1930/31.

Combined Services XI Football Match presentation medallion, played by two of the strongest wartime touring sides in Antwerp, with three enamel badges, the circular medallion inscribed ANTWERPEN 1946 and reverse two footballers in relief, with three enamelled shield badges, in a fitted FISCH & CO box; sold together with a signed paper menu card of the event dated 23 March 1946, held at The Officers' Mess, signed in ink by nearly 60 players including Finney, Lewis, Gooch, Hughes, Daniel, Parr, Squires, Swan etc, both in good condition, slight wear to edges of menu C.M.F. is the Central Mediterranean Force and B.A.O.R is the British Army Over Rhine services.
