Charles Daly Diamond Grade Double Hammerless Shotgun

Condition: Very good. Retains traces of brown finish and Damascus patterning on the barrels, receiver a dull pewter patina with no case colors remaining. Mechanically functional, very good bores, wood with scattered bumps and dings and a tiny chip out of the forend on the reverse where it meets the frame.

The receiver has a matte stainless finish with a simple but eye-catching banknote style engraving marked "Abbiatico Salvinelli" on the right and left side, upper tang, break action and triggerguard. The bottom of the receiver has delicate patriotic American flag rising from a rose bush with with a vine wrapped around the flag pole surrounded by a banknote-style engraved background. Above the American flag is marked "The Patriot 9/11/2001" over "Excalibur BL." The flat of the receive is marked with S/N "FO 315". Fancy checkered pistol grip and fore end circassian walnut stock with leather wrapped recoil pad. Single trigger. Length of pull is 14.5", drop at comb is 1" and at the heel 1.25".

German Wheelock Rifle by Melchior Felsiesen

Condition: All of the metalwork is fine fine and untouched throughout with minor oxidation to lockplate. The stock is fine with some losses to horn buttplate. Minor marks and several losses to horn around the buttplate. This is a fine Wheelock-sporting rifle with identifiable noble coat of arms and though the inlay is not profuse, the quality is uniformly excellent and tasteful.

Accompanying this lot is a letter showing the history of this piece leaving the factory on April 23, 1930 and sent to a "Mr. Balloni."

Condition: This is an extremely rare Beretta Model 11 hammerless shotgun that was top of the line production when produced in 1930. With two styles of engraving on the locks, frame, upper tang and trigger guard that are very sharp and artistically done. The barrels display a very old re-blue finish with faint barrel markings. The stocks are good in their refinished state with the checkering being smooth on the butt stock and forearm. Wood is replaced where a sling swivel once was. Bores are very good and mechanically functional. A rare opportunity to own a most scarce Beretta shotgun.

Dutch Wheelock Holster Pistol

Condition: Condition of metal is untouched with deep even age brown on barrel, lock and side plate. Fruitwood full stock rated fine overall with rich patination, only minor marks and one section replaced during the period of use does not detach. A small area of repair on the left side of the trigger. A fine example of a 17th-century wheel-lock holster pistol.

Cased Pair of French Percussion Target Pistols by Verney Carron Freres
Lot # 291 (Sale Order: 287 of 370)
Pistols are housed in their original Verney Carron Freres French-fit lockable retailer casing that retains its original key in the storage compartment. The case has a figured mahogany veneer surface with inlaid brass boarders on the lid and a brass shield shaped escutcheon engraved with the intertwined initials "CM." Paper label in case with the firms multiple addresses in Lyon, St. Etienne and Marseille. The case is lined in dark red baize with compartments for the pistols and all of the accessories. These include an ebony cleaning rod with a brass jag head with female threads, a brass tipped ebony loading rod, an ebony ball starting hammer, an ebony turn screw, a steel powder dipper, a steel bullet mold that casts a single two-groove round nosed bullet with a flat base, and two round ebony canisters that contain lead round balls and percussion caps. A simply wonderful set of mid-19th century pistols in excellent condition retailed by one of the oldest of the French gunmaking firms that can trace its ancestry in the gun trade to the mid-17th century and continues to produce fine arms to this day.
Condition: Excellent. Both guns retain nearly all of their high polish blued with some minor thinning and loss along the high edges and contact point, as well as some freckled surface oxidation near the muzzle of one and only tiny flecks of oxidation on the other. All engraving remains extremely crisp and sharp. Crisp, mechanically excellent locks, excellent bright bores with sharp rifling. Wood about excellent as well with crisp carving and only some lightly scattered minor handling marks. All accessories rate fine to excellent as well. Case very fine, with some surface wear and scuffing. Interior with some minor discoloration due to light and dust, a couple of spots of minor wear and denting to the compartments. Interior lid retains a fine paper label.

Condition: Condition of pistols is remarkable; perfect markings and pristine. Locks have minor stains. Brass furniture is crisp throughout. Figured walnut full-stocks retain to be there original varnish. This is a most unusual pair of pistols as they are dated at the toe of the lock 1836. By 1836, most English makers had adopted the percussion system. These pistols are in such good condition that they will appeal to any collector of flintlocks.

Very Unusual and Rare English Rifled Flintlock Pistol Carbine by Richard Fenton

Condition: Condition is fair. Steel surfaces are moderately to heavily pitted throughout. Pistol stock shows wear and marks as does the detachable stock which is frozen to the pistol. All lock parts appear to be original and the action is good. Deeply rifled bore is fair. This is an extremely rare flintlock pistol carbine is of the best London workmanship and will worth restoring or enjoying as is; in excellent condition it would be worth five figures.

Fine Cased Pair of English Flintlock Boxlock Pocket Pistols by Walls

Condition: Condition is exemplary; both pieces retain nearly all of their bright color case hardening with strong rainbow colors in most areas. Frizzen springs all retain their bright blue and case colors, only minor light corrosion and can be wiped off. Checkering on butt is essentially new-looking. Both pistols are in identical condition. Body of the flask retains nearly all original lacquer finish, nearly all of the gilting on the spout. Flask spring retains all of the nitre blue. Bullet mold retains all original bight and vivid case coloring. Lining of box is nearly pristine. Box itself retains original varnish. For condition and quality, this set would be difficult to improve on.

Remarkable Pair of German Roberts System Single-Shot Pistols by Gebruder Lindenschmit

These unique pistols are most unusual, as according to Stockel, one Lindenschmidt brother died in 1802 and the other in 1814, with Joseph Alexandre Robert system firearms dating from 1832. It is conceivable that the Lindenschmidts were really the inventors of the system.
Condition: Condition overall is very good with the barrels retaining considerable original Damascus finish. Actions are crisp and the stocks are fine with minor marks. Engraving is crisp throughout and rifled bores are good. This is a most intriguing and potentially very important high quality pair of very early mechanism and ignition pistols from the renowned collection of Mark Aziz.

Brass mounts are in good condition throughout. Full stock in relatively good condition with ancient repair to forend just ahead of front ramrod pipe. Oak ramrod a replacement. Action is good.

Condition: Condition of barrels mostly grey metal, frame is crisp with good engraving and maker's name. Steel trigger guard with some minor pitting, hammer and frizzen with minor corrosion, small parts appear to be original. Stock with heavy coat of over varnish and marks beneath possibly replaced during period. All duckfoot pistols must be examined with suspicion as excellent imitations have been made since at least the 1930s.

Mid-18th Century English Flintlock Holster Pistol By Richard Wilson
Lot # 301 (Sale Order: 297 of 370)
Richard Wilson (1703-1766) was apprenticed to his gun making uncle Thomas Green in 1718, was free of the Gunmakers Company in 1725 and submitted his proof piece in 1730 (Blackmore). He took over the business of Anges Green in the Minories in 1730 and was elected Master of the Gunmakers Company in 1741. Wilson served as a contractor to the East India Company from 1733-1736, the Hudson Bay Company from 1730-1756, and the Board of Ordnance from 1746. In 1757 his son William joined the company, becoming Richard & William Wilson & Co and in 1759 the firm was renamed simply "Richard Wilson & Co.".
Condition: Good. Brass with a gentle golden patina and indications of an old, light cleaning. Markings remain clear and sharp throughout. Lock cleaned to bright with speckled oxidation and light pinpricking. Lock in original flint and mechanically functional. Bore good with moderate oxidation and roughness throughout. Stock good with several old repairs including a glued crack running though the lock mortise to the triggerguard, a diagonal crack forward of the lock mortise and several diagonal grain cracks in the forend.

Double Action Belgian Transitional Ring-Trigger Percussion Revolver

Condition: Good. Retains minute traces of blue on the metal, with moderately oxidized brown patina with scattered surface scale and roughness. Mechanically functional, poor bore is heavily rusted and oxidized. Grips with wear, scattered marks and mars. Missing both the rear and front sights.

Double-Hammer Superposed Load Percussion Single-Barrel Pistol by Luzier
Lot # 303 (Sale Order: 299 of 370)
Jean Jacques Luzier worked in Paris during the late 1820s and 1830s (Stockel), and received French patent number 5550 for a "multi-shot rifle with single barrel." A unique, superposed pistol similar in concept to those produced by Lindsay in American during the late 1850s.
Condition: Fine. Retains some nice brown and Damascus patterning on the barrel, with some faded case color remaining on the locks and hammers. All markings remain fine and crisp. Mechanically functional, fine bore. Stock with two significant grain cracks in the forend, one about 2" long running from the reverse lock down and around the bottom fo the forend and the other on the obverse running up from the barrel wedge. otherwise, the stock shows scattered bumps, dings and mars.

English Flintlock Pistol by Ketland & Company

Condition: Very good. Barrel with a mottled and oxidized brownish-gray patina with clear markings and scattered surface oxidation and some light pitting. Lock mechanically functional, good bore that is moderately oxidized with some pitting. Brass with an uncleaned patina. Stock solid with scattered bumps, dings and mars and with a crack running from the forend tip though most of the length of the ramrod channel.
