ARCHER, SKETCHED FROM LIFE, OCT 29, 1886, oval, 33 by 28cm., mounted in red velvet applied with a pair of jockey spurs, in gilt frame, overall 47 by 52cm. 29th October 1886 was the date of the Houghton Meeting at Newmarket, and just ten days before Archer tragically took his own life.
