A hoof from Prince Regent, the 1946 Cheltenham Gold Cup and 1942 Irish Grand National winner, the polished hoof with a silver-plated/chrome mounted and engraved Prince Regent. The legendary Prince Regent, trained by Tom Dreaper, won 12 races in his native Ireland during World War II including the 1942 Irish Grand National. When racing resumed in England, he won the 1946 Cheltenham Gold Cup by five lengths and looked a certainty in the ensuing Grand National, landing clear over the final fence before exhaustion, age and top weight of 12st. 7lb. caught up with him and he finished a distant third to Lovely Cottage. He won five more races and was fourth in the 1947 National before retiring in 1949. Dreaper rated him so highly that only after two Gold Cup wins did he concede the great Arkle ''might be the Prince's equal.''

A racing plate worn by Doricles, winner of the 1901 Doncaster St Leger Stakes, mounted on a yellow and black coloured tinplate sheet, owner L de Rothschild Esq., 12 x 11.2 cm. Doricles (1898-1916) trained at Palace House, Newmarket by Alfred Hayhoe, ran only twice as a two-year-old but showed considerable promise and went on to contest all three legs of the 1901 Triple Crown. After finishing second in the 2,000 Guineas and seventh in the Derby, he won his next three races, culminating in a 40-1 victory in the St Leger under Kempton Cannon in a new record time for the race. He was retired to stud in France.

A racing plate worn by Noble Minstrel winning the 1987 European Free Handicap at Newmarket, mounted on a board with a framed colour photograph above, together with a typed and hand written compliment slip from Olivier Douieb, 46.7 x 36.2 cm, (2). Noble Minstrel was a US-bred chestnut colt, foaled in 1984 by the Derby winner The Minstrel out of Noble Natisha. Trained at Newmarket by Olivier Douieb, he won the 1987 European Free Handicap ridden by Alain Badel.

Trained at Newmarket by Olivier Douieb, he won the 1987 European Free Handicap ridden by Alain Badel.

A racing plate worn by Attivo in one of his many races during the period of 1973-77, mounted on a framed board with a framed colour print above, the reverse bears a framed typed and hand written compliments slip from C.A. Mitchell, 46.7 x 36.2 cm. Attivo (1970-92) was one of the most popular horses owned by ''The Voice of Racing'', legendary commentator Sir Peter O'Sullevan. Trained by Cyril Mitchell at Epsom, Attivo ran 13 times on the Flat without success before three hurdling victories including the famous 1974 Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham during which O'Sullevan's race commentary never wavered. Reverting to the Flat, he landed the 1974 Chester Cup and Northumberland Plate, and won a total of ten races during his career.

Two racing plates worn by Chaplins Club, the first mounted on a wooden back, framed, with engraved plaque 'Chaplins Club 1988', the reverse with compliments slip D.W. Chapman, Chaplins Club trainer, 19.7 x 19.7 cm.; the second mounted on a wooden plaque with a framed compliments slip from D.W. Chapman, trainer, 29.7 x 19.2 cm. Chaplins Club (1980-2007) was one of the best known and toughest sprinters trained by David Chapman in Yorkshire. In 1985, he won what was then a record 19 handicap races in a season, becoming the first horse to achieve this feat for 100 years. Three years later in 1988, he notched up seven wins in a 19-day spell including the prestigious Tote Bookmakers Sprint Trophy at Ayr. He won the last of his 160 races at Redcar in 1992 and a race at Pontefract is staged annually in his honour.

A racing plate worn by Moon Madness winning The Cumberland Lodge Stakes, Ascot 1987, mounted on a silver-plated edged tray, with engraved plaque. Moon Madness was a winner of the St Leger in 1986, 21.2 x 16.5 cm. Moon Madness was bred in 1983 by Lavinia Duchess of Norfolk, trained at Arundel by John Dunlop and ridden in most of his races by Pat Eddery. During a four-year career, he ran 24 times, winning ten races, the most important of these being the 1986 St Leger at Doncaster. That same year he also won the King George V Stakes and the Scottish Derby at Ayr, and other victories included the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, Cumberland Lodge and Geoffrey Freer Stakes (all in 1987). He later stood as a stallion in Europe and Japan.
