Condition is very good ret...moreaining approx. 40%-50% of a later very thin finish. Frame has had its government markings removed. Eagle head acceptance mark is clearly visible above mag release. Slide is from an earlier pistol having just four patent dates. Barrel is post-war commercial Colt. Left panel is WWI era large diamond, and right panel is post-war checkered walnut. Swiss M1896/11 Schmidt-Rubin Straight-Pull Rifle, with bayonet and scabbard, #439381, 7.5x 55mm cal., 30.7'' barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock, blade front sight and a...moredjustable tangent rear sight. Marked on receiver ring with Swiss crest and ''B'' on barrel. Matching numbers on bolt and magazine, mismatched number on rear sight leaf. Condition overall is very good with about 85% finish remaining on the metal, with patina on the magazine and buttplate. There is an open crack on right side of stock at the wrist that has an arsenal dowel wood repair; there is also an arsenal repair on comb of stock. Wood has been sanded smooth and has a flat matte finish with some spots and light scratches showing. Bright bore is excellent, action is smooth. No visible import stamps. A Swiss leather sling is attached and has mfg's marks stamped and shows areas of drying and stiffness. Bayonet is 16.3'' overall and has an 11.5'' blade that shows uneven sharpening and polishing. Scabbard has been cleaned bright and shows overall patina and dents. Est.: $300-$500. (C&R)

Marked on right side of action body ''LITHGOW SHT.LE III*'' inside shield over ''1918''; ''3MD'' and additional defaced serial number on top of chamber. Ears have been removed from rear handguard. Stock disc filled in with wooden dowel. Original serial number ground off of rear bolt handle and re-numbered to match. Matching numbers on nosecap and rear sight leaf. No number on forend. Mismatched number on bottom of magazine case. Front handguard is a replacement. Condition overall is very good with over 95% of the dark refinish remaining on the metal. Wood is very good with a flat matte finish over old handling marks. Action is smooth, bright bore is very good. Import stamped on left side of receiver. Includes a British green cotton sling in good condition. Bayonet is stamped on left side of ricasso ''(crown)/1907 11 18 WILKINSON''. Condition overall is very good with the blade showing minor sharpening and pitting and darkening toward the tip. Wooden grips show handling marks and dents. Condition overall is very good with about 95% finish remaining on the metal, with a rust spot on the magazine floorplate and thinning to the triggerguard. Stock has an arsenal repaired grain crack forward of the triggerguard and several gouges to the wood, otherwise very good. Action is smooth, bright bore is excellent. Import stamped on underside of barrel. Includes a Yugoslavian leather sling and cleaning rod. Bayonet is stamped on ricasso with Cyrillic ''NPEAY3EKE 44''. Matching numbers on bayonet and scabbard. Condition overall is about excellent with almost all of the blued finish remaining on the blade with no edgewear. Scabbard is very good with no dents and light patina. Barrel has not been modified. Condition overall is very good with approx. 80% finish remaining on the metal, with the magazine case cleaned showing extensive pitting. Marked on receiver ring with defaced Imperial chrysanthemum over characters for ''99 Type''. Left side of receiver stamped with First Series mark and symbol of Nagoya Arsenal. Includes cleaning rod, monopod attached to rear band, plumb-shaped bolt handle, and mismatched number on bolt. Condition overall is very good with approx. 80% finish remaining on the metal, turning brown in places. Wood is very good with cuts, scratches, and impressions visible. Action is smooth, bore is very good with some wear showing. No visible import stamps. The Type 30 bayonet is marked on blade ricasso with the logo of the Kokura Arsenal and stamped with a serial number on the rear of the pommel. Condition overall is very good with the bright blade showing circular marks in the steel and light sharpening to the edge of the blade; grips are very good and latch operates smoothly. There is an impact mark to the rear of the pommel. Scabbard is very good with no dents and light patina. Est.: $300-$500. (C&R)

Marked on left side of receiver ''No.4 Mk1*'' and ''U.S.PROPERTY'', and on left side body ''S/1943'', indicating mfg. by Savage Arms Co. under the Lend-Lease agreement. Matching numbers on bolt handle, no numbers on forend. Magazine marked with a Savage ''Block S'', with zinc buttplate. Bore has darkening in the grooves, otherwise bright with very good rifling. Safety lever spring is weak but functional, action is smooth. Import stamped on left side of receiver. Includes a Danish cotton sling marked ''HTK'' in excellent condition. Bayonet is marked on left side of socket ''No.4 Mk II S'' and has a rifle serial number stamped on the left side. Scabbard is stamped ''No.4 Mk 1''. Marked on right side of frame with S&W logo and ''MADE IN USA''; barrel marked on left side ''SMITH & WESSON'' and ''38 S&W SPECIAL CTG'' on right side; patent information marked on top of barrel; ''US PROPERTY GHD'' marked on top left side of frame. All matching numbers on frame, barrel, grips, cylinder, and cylinder star. Metal surfaces rate as good, majority of the parkerized and case colored finish remains, with specks and spots of reddish brown oxidation, some of which have turned to very fine surface peppering; factory lettering is clear.
